OMG, 4,400 miles in a car with a six year old?

Call us crazy, but we are hitting the road mid-July and headed to Yellowstone with a six year old in tow. Now, our little sprite is quick witted, bright and rambunctious. So, we need to find oodles of ways to keep him occupied for hours (and I mean lots of hours) couped up in the car.

My search led me to MagneticPoetry.com, where they have the coolest travel games! Checkers will be fun and we will use our own modified version of Hangman to teach him word recognition and spelling. They are compact and all the pieces stay put in this zip up game board. He is going to have a blast!

And, away we go!

I'll keep you posted on what dear hubby calls "the trip of a lifetime"!

Before you go, hit NickJr.com and print out the Scavenger Hunt pages - I think they're under Dora the Explorer games.

There are printouts of pictures that he can search for as you travel. For example, birds, sunglasses, etc. He marks them off as he goes.

Have fun!!!
